Ed & Robin Sostak

Lead Pastors
Pastors Ed and Robin are devoted followers of Jesus who yearn to see others set free in Christ!
Prior to their pastoral appointment at VBC in July 2015, they were active lay members of VBC for more than 30 years. Convinced of a full-time calling to ministry, both Ed and Robin completed their Ministerial education through a combination of mentorship and coursework, receiving their Ordination through the Free Methodist Church in June 2017.
Pastors Ed and Robin have been married for 41 years, and reside in White Sulphur Springs, NY. They were longtime educators in the Liberty Central School District, and continue to have a heart for the wonderful people of Sullivan County and beyond.
Their two children and son-in-law are all educators (2 in colleges and 1 in high school), and they have been Blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren.
Over the years Pastors Robin and Ed have served in many local, conference, and denominational ministry positions. In addition, Pastor Ed is honored to serve as Chaplain of the Liberty, NY. Police Department. In addition to her shepherding role, Pastor Robin oversees all Christian Education at VBC, including a dynamic Sunday School for all ages and several Life Groups. She also serves many in our community as a Family and organizes a yearly Conference-wide Women’s Retreat which attracts over 200 ladies.
Pastor Ed and Pastor Robin have led teams on four international mission trips, two to Nogales, Mexico (2001 & 2003) and two to Kenya, Africa (2017 & 2020) working alongside FM Missionaries. They experienced a teaching tour of the Holy Land for their 25th anniversary in 2010, and they were so impacted by that trip that they began working with another Pastoral team to lead groups there. Since then they have led several groups on teaching tours of the Holy Land, trekking through the “Land of the Bible” in both Jordan and Israel – including working with and encouraging local FM Pastors while there.
Pastor Ed and Pastor Robin are looking forward to meeting you at Vine and Branch Church, and working alongside you to make a Kingdom difference in Sullivan County and beyond!
